A FIVE MINUTE STORY – A STORY ABOUT A COLOR

Standard

Red!  The vermillion red dot on the forehead of a Hindu bride..  The crimson roses in a lover’s bouquet … remembering passions quenched or anticipating moments to come.

The red fire of a sunset in one last blaze before its grand exit.  A racing red fire- engine. Then there is dark,  red blood  oozing thickly from a murdered victim.

Red.  A color both for happiness and death.   It is thick, vibrant, pulsating, joyous, flowing, flashing in a ruby.  It gives a feeling of warmth, passion, vibrancy, life, happiness, energy and strength, yet it can be terrifying.  A rich red velvet robe, red bricks, red apples and rosy red cheeks.  A very complicated color.
