Friendship

Standard

Entry from my journal on March 11, 2012:

“The journey in a true friendship is very special.  It gently unfolds without trying until one day, a few years later into it, you realize the closeness acquired and when you look back, you want to capture that one moment or several, that one conversation or a few where it inched up a bit. But this my friends is elusive!  There is no one moment or conversation you can pin down. You just experience  a flow of which you are subtly aware … like the beginning of a stream … low-lying water, among strewn bits of rocks and pebbles, that rises above them, starts trickling, gathering speed and then into a placid, contented ocean which ripples and moves, contained and full.  And to this ocean of friendship you return time and again to just sit, replenish your spirit or wet your feet feeling the lapping of the water assuring you that it is there … always there when you need it.”

  1. I read this a few minutes after I hung up on a 2 1/2 hour call with my best friend. What a coincidence–or is anything really one? 🙂

    • Oh yes of course! That is a whole other subject …
Coincidences, Synchronicity … my life is full of it.
Will write about it some day. Don’t you love it when you have not talked in ages and then when you do, you just pick up where you left off, no questions asked? That is true friendship.
